Ovarian reserve
Ovarian reserve is the number of eggs you have remaining. It declines with age and is estimated using the AMH blood test and the antral follicle count, though neither measures egg quality.
Ovarian reserve refers to how many eggs you have left. It falls naturally with age, which is why age is such a strong factor in fertility.
How it is measured
Clinics estimate it with the AMH blood test and the antral follicle count on ultrasound. These give a sense of quantity, not quality, so they cannot tell you on their own whether a pregnancy will succeed.
